Off Stamp Battery

The X Cube device runs a rechargeable lithium-ion battery sized to match its pod capacity — a 25K pod is paired with a battery good for 25,000 puffs across multiple charge cycles. Here's what to expect, and how long it lasts.

How long does one charge last?

A real-world charge cycle on a 25K Cube device gives roughly 600–800 puffs before the LED starts blinking low. Total over the device lifetime: about 30–40 charge cycles before the battery's chemistry degrades enough to retain noticeably less per cycle. By the time the pod is consumed (~25K puffs), the battery's still healthy for many more pod cycles.

Indicator light meanings

  • Solid LED while drawing — drawing successfully, battery at usable level.
  • Solid LED while idle, USB connected — charging in progress.
  • LED off while USB connected — fully charged.
  • Blinking LED on draw — battery at ~10% or below. Plug in within a few draws.
  • 3-blink burst on draw — short circuit or low-resistance fault. Try a different pod.
  • 10-blink burst on connection — over-discharge protection triggered. Charge for at least 10 minutes before next draw.

Charging best practice

  • Use the included USB-C cable or any 1A+ phone-grade replacement.
  • Avoid leaving the device plugged in overnight indefinitely — top-off cycles add wear.
  • Charge in a temperature range of 50–95°F (10–35°C) for best longevity.
  • Do not modify the device or use third-party fast chargers above 2A.

Battery lifespan and what shortens it

Off Stamp batteries are designed to outlast the pod they ship with — meaning the bottleneck for device longevity is usually pod replacement, not battery degradation. Factors that shorten battery life:

  • Storing in direct heat (a car dash in summer accelerates wear).
  • Repeated full-deplete-to-full-charge cycles versus partial top-offs.
  • Physical impact (drop damage can compromise internal cell integrity).

Recycling & disposal

The Off Stamp Cube device contains a lithium-ion cell that should not go into landfill — the EPA guidance on used lithium-ion batteries classifies them as hazardous waste. When you're done with the device, drop it at any battery-recycling stream (Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowe's, and most municipal hazardous-waste sites accept e-cigarette batteries). Empty pods can also be recycled with the same stream — they contain a small heating coil even when the e-liquid is consumed.
